RE: Sgi Octane Discreet Flint 7.0
I tried as you wrote before, but now it tells me that the software is not compatible with Octane. Now here it's late and I'll post the screenshot. Anyway thanks for the info

RE: Sgi Octane Discreet Flint 7.0
Hello everyone. I resume the thread after some time between various tests etc.
I did various experiments but it would seem that the dongle does not work but neither does the wacom that was standard at the Flint.
At this point a doubt comes to me. Could it be that the serial ports are not working properly?
From what I understand, with the dongle I shouldn't have licensing problems because it's permanent.

Another very important thing that surprised me is that the version of Flint seems dedicated to this Octane, because both on the manual and on the pdfs on the cd, the host ID of this machine is mentioned several times. So I have to deduce that other owners of a completely original discreet system with manuals, etc., are also unique and linked to the machine purchased.

So everybody can understand what you are saying, by "host ID" you are referring to the 12-hex-digit address of the form 08:00:69:12:34:56 that identifies your individual machine? And there are stickers with that address affixed to the manuals?
When software is licensed for a specific machine, it is said to be "node locked". This is one way to prevent the software from being run on multiple computers without paying extra. There have always been ways to circumvent this check.
The license.dat file will contain a line with the string "HOSTID=xxx" which is checked by the license daemon when the program is launched.

Exactly as you describe the specific node for the machine. No, there are no labels, but that's exactly how the manual with Hosto ID of my Octane is printed. Tonight Italian time I send photos of the page.

Logically I know that with keygen or other everything can work, but the fact that I have the hardware dongle, I can't understand why it doesn't work.

Excuse me but in fact on the manual it does not show the same HOSTID as my Octane. I probably confused some numbers that were similar Smile

Working wacom graphics tablet, so the serial is ok. It remains to be understood why the permanently licensed dongle does not work.

RE: Sgi Octane Discreet Flint 7.0
Hi everyone, latest update on progress with the Octane and Flint. The biggest problems I had were with the Stone and wire related to the epoch error. I solved it with the Discreet patch that solves the problem.
The only thing still to be solved is the dongle that does not detect it.
In the meantime, I had to use a keygen to make it work.
But I wish it was a temporary situation until I can show the license dongle to the Flint.
