Fuel - L1 firmware panic!

RE: Fuel - L1 firmware panic!
Hi Jan-Jaap & Co,

on the "works out of box" front for USB/RS-232 Dongle, I believe this may apply to the FTDI based devices: see web surfing and the following from the "About This Mac" report:

>> com.apple.DriverKit-AppleUSBFTDI:
>>
>>   Version: 1.0
>>   Last Modified: 1/1/20, 7:00 pm
>>   Bundle ID: com.apple.DriverKit-AppleUSBFTDI
>>   Notarised: Yes
>>   Loaded: No
>>   Obtained from: Apple
>>   Location: /System/Library/DriverExtensions/com.apple.DriverKit-AppleUSBFTDI.dext
>>   Kext Version: 1
>>   Loadable: Yes
>>   Dependencies: Satisfied
>>   Signed by: Software Signing, Apple Code Signing Certification Authority, Apple Root CA

The one I have is ATEM, which is Prolific PL2303 based and there is no Apple Driver for this.

I will order a FTDI based USB dongle and give it a go...

Cheers from Oz,

John.

RE: Fuel - L1 firmware panic!
Hi Jan-Jaap and others,

can confirm that the FTDI USB/RS-232 Dongle works "out of box" with Big Sur.

So for those with Prolific PL2303 based dongle you can:

1. Wait for driver support with Big Sur
2. Use Serial 2 or other program that talks directly to device or
3. Get yourself a FTDI based dongle

Device reports as: "/dev/tty.usbserial-A50285BI" on my Mac.

Cheers from Oz,

John.
