"say" and a weird Street Drive-Through Demo - what was it?!
So, one of my first experiences as an early intern at SGI was a sweet Onyx2 with InfiniteReality2 setup in it.  I remember one of the demos was basically a 3D simulation of a town where the stop lights kept cycling quickly red-yellow-green over and over again while you could basically drive through at whatever speed you wanted to go.

Ever since, I've wondered - what was that demo, and could I download that onto a more capable late-model workstation and relive that faded experience?

Also -

I think I had a copy of "say" which was a really pleasant text to speech generator, but maybe I misplaced it. Anyone have a copy of that binary? (It worked fine on R3K Indigos running 5.3 maybe also R4K/R5K systems running 6.2 and 6.3)

Fun times.

The demo is called "Town" (It's one of the Onyx demos)

Send jan-jaap a PM, he may be able to help you out here!

There is a thread somewhere on this forum form which you can download the script files required to get these demos up and running on a non-Infinite Reality system.

Here's the link for the required script files: https://forums.irixnet.org/attachment.php?aid=578

This demo called distortion takes place in the same town:
