I switched to 24 bit TrueColor mode on the Octane by editing the /var/X11/xdm/Xservers file. One issue I'm having is the mouse doesn't work when the X server starts at the login menu. I can enter the PROM menu and the mouse will work but once X server starts it seems to ignore mouse input. If I unplug the mouse and then plug it back in it starts working, just a bit annoying to have to unplug it each time I start the machine up. Anyone encounter this issue before and solved it?

As I'm so fond of mentioning, your system log files are always the first best place to start tracking this kind of thing down. What does /var/adm/SYSLOG tell you, obviously, you should check the file right after the next incident.

Checked the SYSLOG and nothing obvious in there, however I did notice I can get around this if the first input once the X server starts is from the keyboard and not the mouse. So, if I press any key on my keyboard first once the login screen comes up, the mouse will work fine.

I think your system has backed into some sort of corner case with regard to mouse behavior. Glad you've found a workaround...
