That looks fantastic! Really am liking how you setup the lighting.

Thanks Man!

I thought you might appreciate this project, given your avatar! Smile

Thanks!

I still need to complete it and then I'll try to bring the fog into the scene, but given the number of lights present in the scene and the fact that the fog is linked to individual lights, this may prove to be problematic in the way in which the lights and fog interact with each other in the scene. The fog effect only interacts with the bodies present in the scene when shadow mapping is used and I'm using ray traced shadows at this time!

So once the scene is built up completely I'll have to play around with this! (I'm not promising anything though, as this feature does seem to have issue with overlapping light sources.)

I haven't built any new assets for this scene yet, but I've spent hours this evening working on the lighting, and here's the result:

That's it for today, it's probably about 65% complete at this point.

Optimising the lighting in a scene like this is rather time-consuming on a slow machine like the Tezro, as every time I make a change, it takes me about 30 minutes to see the result!

30 minutes isn't bad for that kind of scene from that Era of Vfx computing.

I haven't been back much here lately as I have no SGI with me where I am. I am hoping to go get them late Oct or Early Nov and start tuts again.

Keep up the cool renders. These are really great and you are creating with a great skill level already.

I think I've almost optimised the lighting setup, and these are pretty much the settings I'm going to continue with:

Now onto the VR helmets with their fibre optic linkups and the completion of the multimedia station.

I worked on this a bit this evening and managed to add the VR helmets:

So now only the completion of the multimedia station remains!!!
