Ivy Legacy issuing threats to me on youtube!

RE: Ivy Legacy issuing threats to me on youtube!
Looks like a nasty guy, searched on the web and found his nick on several forums but can't get to any post from him.

Remember me several users on the Amiga forums that are like this in a seemingly never ending quest to protect the IP of dead company's and 30 year old software. Always creating all sort of melodramas, waging war against anyone daring to not comply to their crazy views of the world.

Considering how this kind of troll operate it may be best for the people that knows him to discuss this privately, because sure he is here reading this thread and enjoin that he is getting a reaction for his "work".

RE: Ivy Legacy issuing threats to me on youtube!
He doesn't care, he just loves causing trouble. He was on Nekochan for a long while. Initially he was simply a bit of an odd, eccentric fellow, however he was very prone to flying off the handle and eventually got banned. Came back with a new nick and was tolerated for a while (moderation on Nekochan was very relaxed), but eventually the old habits returned, he became abusive and was banned again, and again, and again.

Now? He just loves to wind people up, annoy them and cause as much trouble as possible. He revels in it. It's not about holding a crazy view or anything, it's simply deliberate trolling. Hence, ignoring him completely is the only way to stand a chance of getting rid of him I'm afraid. This is the last I'll say on the matter as you're quite right about him reading this and enjoying being the centre of attention again.

He also flooded the eevblog under "legacy" with a bunch of nonsense about MIPS:

I can't remember, but I think they eventually banned him because he let too much of his personality through.

Hahahahahaha! I used to get hate mail from people all the time complaining about Nekochan's rigid moderation policies!

I've enjoyed a much more relaxed online life since retiring as a moderator! Cheers!

I think the biggest problem with the moderation on Nekochan is that people who felt unfairly treated didn't have any recourse. For as much as I sometimes unintentionally intimidate people I am a pretty fair guy and I'm willing to listen to somebody's appeal if they go to another staff member first.

People who know me personally would know that I'm not unapproachable and that I try to be friendly and diplomatic. As the founder however I sometimes have to take a bit more of a firm stance. Online social interactions are not easy, nobody has the same social restraint you would in person.

The only other thing I could say was that the software policy was pretty draconian. I might be a little too lax but I basically draw the line at I don't want people openly pirating and reverse engineering software in an unethical fashion.

The problem was that they were not rigid. In some cases (not yourself) they were quite flexible, allowing the Conventional Wisdom to continue post after post, but when an opposing viewpoint was expressed, wham ! "We don't allow politics here."

Oh yeah ? So what were the last thirty posts, babysitting advice ?

Since this is a thread about an Italian, where did Dante put the hypocrites ?

I also had some particular troubles with two staff members from Europe, who are also consequently absent from participation here, either due to no longer being in the hobby, or out of a dislike for me. I really hated how I was treated by them.

Apologies to all. I really didn't intend to trigger a discussion of the moderators or moderation practices of a dead forum, though it seems obvious I should have anticipated it. I was just trying to have a bit of a laugh at the occasional challenges of being a moderator. I'll slink back to my spartan quarters in the Institute for Retired and Indigent X-moderators. It's time for my medication and sponge bath, anyway.

Shit happens dude. Don't worry about it. Everything's laid back here.

Ninja Edit: I wonder if he's like Biggie Smalls on that Episode of South Park:

ivelegacy, ivelegacy, ivelegacy...

Oh he didn't show up.

Was that a takeoff on Beetlejuice ? If you haven't seen that, you must. Total crackup, you'll love it.
