Angels Egg
Hiyas,

I don't know any *real* anime fans IRL. Usually when I meet someone who outwardly declares their love for anime, they mean Naruto, Dbz, Bleach... blah. Then I reel off a few old classics and modern masterpieces and they haven't got a clue, and then they realise that they were never fans to begin with. Anyway. Sigh. That's enough of that!

In recent years I stopped watching anime, I also stopped playing computer games. I don't know what it is, perhaps I'm just getting older. Anyway, I wanted to just throw out this diamond in the rough for you guys - Angels Egg.

Do you have to be drunk to get through it? I was, 2 out of 3 times. Will you fall asleep, I did 2 out of 3 times. Either way it's a damn masterpiece. That wonderful 80s style of quality drawn animation and absolutely world class direction from Mamoru Oshii (Made famous from Ghost in the shell and Patlabor)

You can watch in all the usual places, you can even watch the full film on youtube. Of course I recommend Bluray if you can, or a Bluray quality rip.

Here are some very good analysis videos:

My favorite Gong album!

No, but seriously, I should get around to this one sometime. Mamoru Oshii and unquestionable best FF character designer Yoshitaka Amano? Sign me up.
