Picked up my 3rd Indigo2
I've been watching this Indigo2 on the CA Kijiji site for a while, and the owner finally dropped his price. I got him to drop it more, so now it's home, after a bit of drive to pick it up. It's a 250Mhz R4400 with MaxIMPACT graphics with 1Mb TRAM, though no HD and only 128Mb RAM. Plastics are in good condition, including the door, but one of the rear corner latches is broken.

A few nice-to-haves:
  • 13w3 vga adapter
  • 80-50/68 pin scsi HD adapter on a sled
  • blanking plates
  • locking bar
  • Purple feet!
  • R10k motherboard with 195Mhz R10000 cpu

So, the PO had installed the R10k, and described the PSU as "flakey." I tried booting as is, and got a solid amber LED and no signal to the monitor. I re-seated everything, and tried the RAM sticks in different banks, but no luck. Knowing that there are separate PSUs part numbers for R4400- and R10000-based systems, I swapped the original R4400 motherboard/cpu back in and booted without any troubles. I have a feeling the PO didn't consider that there were different PSUs used, so that was probably what caused him to think the PSU wasn't working. I'll explore this a bit more, but it's nice to have a fully working MaxIMPACT system.

I'm glad to hear you got it.  It had been tempting me, too, even though I don't really need it and it was more than a two hour drive away.  Now my cash is safe and the machine has a good home with a forum member.  Congrats on the acquisition!
