IRIX 5.3 ifconfig

IRIX 5.3 ifconfig
How do you use it? Have I lost my mind? Does ifconfig -av not work or am I doing something wrong? Is there a 5.3 cheat sheet or tips and tricks ( I have been working on my own 5.3 tips and tricks after rebuilding my Indy as a 5.3 WebForce box)?

I think the syntax for 5.3 is "ifconfig *device name*", but i am not home to test with my indy. Irix 5 does not automatically use your primary interface for whatever reason

ifconfig -a may display all interfaces on 5.x, not sure.

Having to type the name of the interface wouldn't be out of place for older UNIXes. HP-UX requires to type
Code:
ifconfig lan0
or whatever the name of the interface is.
