Both my Octane and O2 have softimage 3d extreme installed with all the licenses for Cory, fur, particles etc. The toolbar has the license tools option listed. I had the license since 2004 when avid discounted the package as an end of life application.
Fast forward to this year. I purchased a 64gig scsi system disk preloaded with Irix and applications already installed. Some of you may know this person, it he passed last fall and very well know in the industry.
One of the applications preloaded was Softimage 3d extreme and softimage GT. After installing the hard drive into my Indy 5k, everything booted perfectly. Opened softimage and it did not complain about a license. I did notice the license tools were not shown in the tool chest. My question is more for couriosity, how is this software running without a license tied to my lmhost ID?
