Hi guys,

is there an email client for IRIX that works with Gmail/Yahoo etc in 2020? Netscape Messenger that comes with IRIX 6.5.22 cannot connect to any of them, I suppose because of outdated SSL/TSL.

There was relatively current Thunderbird in Nekochan files. I don't know if it work with the Gmail (I use it to connect to other secure email server). But it is terribly slow on the O2.

I will try to find the link to the wil when I will be in front of my O2.

No. None of the nekoware clients will work with Google, and Google is preventing many legacy clients and browsers from connecting under dubious circumstances.

I recommend not using Google. They're pure evil anyways.

I used to use mutt on my Indy with imaps I suspect it will work with Gmail. (I don't use gmail so I can't be sure but a quick google says you can App specific password if you have set 2FA, and recent Mutt support OAuth either way should get you there)

That indeed will work until Google starts removing thd no JS requirement from their mailbox service, which they are slowly starting to do from what I understand. They claim it's for security reasons I think it's honestly because they're trying to spite people.

I personally found the best way is this: *Have* gmail, but have it forward all emails to a different email address, a traditional pop/imap etc. Then configure your sgi to get email from there instead. The best /most modern email editor in Nekoware is Sylpheed I think.

I use gmail's IMAP access, to avoid most of googles junk, and allow me to use a decent email client not a browser based one..

Under IRIX I use thunderbird.. and under windows seamonkey. IMAP access still works fine for now, until google eventually decides its not part
of their business model, lol..
