O2 Cdrom problem

O2 Cdrom problem
Hello guys & gals Smile

I just find an o2, system is fully functional but cdrom was defected. I cleaned first the dirt inside, it was very dirty. It is just started to read after the cleaning but not fully functional, was give many read errors when i trying to clean OS install. I decided to try a trick from Playstation 1 lens' we do, yo know, changing power potentiometers (variable resistor) value in lens assembly and do it. When i turn potentiometer the one end, cdrom is complete dead and reads nothing. Then i tried to opposite side (i don't remember well, one of right and other is left ofc) cdrom started reading perfectly and succesufully complete clean install the irix 6.5. But short time after this, cdrom is stopped working and some burning smell appeared. I think the lens burnt due to over-current because lowest potentiometer resistance cause over current goes to the lens and it is burned. And i bought new lens assembly from Alixpress, which is made by Sharp and exact model. So, couple of days ago new lens arrived and i installed it to cdrom but nothing changed. Cdrom is still does not work. Now i think i was burnt not only lens but mainboard of cdrom too. So, i want repair it and i think this is simple (smd mosfet) transistor or diode issue in power stage which is supply the lens assembly (previously burnt one due overcurrent by me) but i dont know where to check exactly because there is no schematics or service manual or repair info in internet. Cdrom model number is Toshiba XM-5701B you know, it is 50 pin scsi device. Can anyone help for repair it or advice another device which is compatible with O2 without any issues, something like 512kb sector size or firmware, scsi controller, bios(prom) issues etc? Thanks.

Beware that the CDROMs in that list may work from a technical perspective, but only a few Toshibas have the right clips at the end of the tray where the blue (or purple) drive cover will attach.
