SGI screen capture with Elgato Game Capture?
I'm looking into buying a VGA to HDMI converter so that I can record myself using my Indy. Before buying though, I'd like to know if this will actually work?
All I have for HDMI screen capture is an Elgato Game Capture HD (not HD60).

RE: SGI screen capture with Elgato Game Capture?
I'm trying to do the same. I bought a cheap VGA to HDMI converter on Amazon, and it didn't quite work. It didn't work at all on the Indigo2, and the green channel was like 2X the intensity on my O2. So even though I could capture on the O2, it was so green it wasn't usable. I'm using an HD60S, btw.
If you find a solution, please post it here!

RE: SGI screen capture with Elgato Game Capture?
My experiences with the AverMedia GL310 capturing an old Mac (PowerPC with DVI) and my HP-UX with DVI are the following (both using HDMI to DVI):
1. The GL310 records at 30Hz but presents itself to the video card of the source as 60Hz. This causes some problems:
- the Mac thinks the GL310 is a TV and starts sending an interlaced signal, but then the GL310 can't synchronise. I couldn't solve this issue. I could see what it was trying to do because I have a 2nd PCI video card connected.
- on my HP-UX it would not even detect the screen. I tried punching in a manual X configuration to override the manual detection and it just doesn't synchronise.
I had a bad image by using a cheapo monoprice VGA to HDMI adapter and I got image on the GL310 but every time I punched record, the GL310 application would crash and I could get it to work again only by restarting the Windows computer hosting the GL310. The same adapter works and I can record a modern PC and modern Mac.
So I think it all comes to the fact that the GL310 is only 30Hz and for some reason this causes problems for old machines to synchronise.
Anyone with a 60Hz recorder to test my hypo? Are your capture devices 30Hz or 60Hz?
