I'm still waiting on some adapters and cables to test it, however in the mean time I decided to pull the machine apart a bit to ensure that everything was intact. So far I've managed to remove the CPU carriage to check for damage, however there's a few problems and I'd like to know what to do about them.
On the CPU carriage the bottom rail is bent and the plastic ear is cracked and can be pulled off. Since the rail is bent it prevents it from sliding all the way in easily.
Furthermore, the top ear on the CPU carriage seems to have a screw that is either stripped or damaged to the point where I'm unsure if I screwed it back in if it would ever come out again without the need for something like a screwdriver. Part of this may be that its plastic ear seems to also be damaged (although it doesn't fall off the rail) and may have been screwed incorrectly at an angle.
I haven't pulled out the GPU/XIO board because the screw on the bottom ear for it also seems to be stripped or damaged. Both ears however seem to be intact.
I'm not quite sure how to proceed from here. I was thinking that I could potentially 3D print new ears and replace the screws, however I don't know the measurements of the screws/springs, nor do I have CAD files for the ears. Even if I were to do this I'd still be left with the problem of the bent rail. Would it be safe to attempt to bend it back?
You could try an source a replacement carrier tray? My old Octane had the same as yours, I just bent it back a bit, didn't affect the operation of the machine.
