State of Nekochan Backups - a discussion
Hey guys,

So here's the current state of various sections of the old Nekochan:

Forums: Covered by Nekonomicon from wayback machine scripts and published by Elf.
Gallery: Manually archived most of it by myself. There's one album left, but I'll do that soon.
Blog: Not covered by anything, but most of the posts are in wayback and could probably be extracted into a format
Older versions of sites: Not really covered other than by sporadic wayback snapshots
Wiki: I've ported most of the quality articles over. Anything left on the wiki would require serious rewrites and may already be in apocrypha.
Nekoware: In nekofiles

What, if anything, should we be spending time and resources on? I gave up in 2018 on contacting Peter. He's not interested, clearly, and I'm sure he knows where to find us if he wants to talk. That means forum is mostly a lost cause.

Everything else? Did you guys have anything you wanted me to try and preserve?

If not, then what should I focus on? Any services you think the site is missing?

I'm the system admin of this site. Private security technician, licensed locksmith, hack of a c developer and vintage computer enthusiast.

https://contrib.irixnet.org/raion/ -- contributions and pieces that I'm working on currently.

https://codeberg.org/SolusRaion -- Code repos I control

Technical problems should be sent my way.

There were some sites hosted by Pete like Skywriter's page not otherwise live-on-the-net at the time. I do think we have most of those, if not all, saved in archive, but we could add Skywriter's page from Jan-Jaap's archive at https://forums.irixnet.org/thread-1615-p...l#pid10526 and expand that with other defunct pages.

UPDATE: i have reconstructed a copy of the "Big Old Nasty SGI Page" from various sources, and apart from two files in the blender art section it's complete. It's at: https://tudl1910.home.xs4all.nl/www.repu...skywriter/
