Are you using the PII overdrives now ? There was something that made the PPro actually better (maybe cache ran at processor speed, overdrive was half ?) but the 50% higher clock speed overpowered the better architecture.  And they did make a PPro with 1 meg cache but the o-drives still outperformed them so not worth hunting them up.

btw, if you come across any, the socket 8 overdrives are the only effing "overdrive" I ever found that were worth the money. They will make that box fly (figuratively speaking). And that was from a 240 mhz overclock startpoint. And they didn't have any compatibility problems, like many o-drives did. Good product, unusual for Intel. Only drawback to them was, Intel purposely crippled them for four-way use but that doesn't matter to a desktop.

While I'm here, kinda shocked you don't have a laser marking setup. Can do some really trick stuff with them, and they aren't that expensive.

The really cool thing about the Pentium II overdrive is the fact that the cache runs at the full CPU speed, just like the Pro! Smile

RE: An EPIC Socket 8 Build
The Voodoo2's were kind of temperamental (I literally had to do a Voodoo dance to get them working each time I wanted to run Quake II!), so I swapped the Matrox Millennium G450 out with the Matrox Millennium II and the Voodoo2's are now performing perfectly!!!

It appears that they were in conflict with the G450!!!! (Maybe the AGP to PCI bridge on the G450 has something to do with this!?)

Damn, these machines are temperamental!!!! (Well all's good now Smile )
