Which version of Solaris is better 8 or 10?
When it comes to available apps, which version of Solaris is better 8 or 10?
I'm trying to get CATIA 5 up and running on my V880z and it looks like it needs Solaris 8 to run. So should I ditch version 10 for version 8?

RE: Which version of Solaris is better 8 or 10?
The selection of software for Solaris is pretty limited in any case; you'll probably wind up needing to build half of anything anyway. SunFreeware used to have packages for older versions, but they've gone to a pay-for-freeware model :/ The mirror that I can find doesn't have anything for 8 or 9, just 10. OpenCSW still supports 9, I think, but their focus is on 10.
Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/73
Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/SH-09/MT-32/D-50, Yamaha DX7-II/V50/TX7/TG33/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini/ARP Odyssey/DW-8000/X5DR, Ensoniq SQ-80, E-mu Proteus/2, Nord Lead 2, Behringer Model D

Thanks for the input!

What fails?
