What has everyone been up to primarily since lockdown?

So during the quarantine I've been learning to use a 25-year-old piece of 3D software for SGI called Electro GIG3D. One of the really cool features that it has is this ability to do goopy blending operations between both geometry and textures, with nothing involved beyond the initial setup besides pushing the pieces into each other. Sadly, it seems there is not any contemporary software that offers this kind of feature.

Oh, nifty.

Anyway, did actually make some progress on one of my projects: I got an inexpensive P-bass clone (SX Guitars - shockingly good value for money, apart from the cheapass electronics) and tweaked it out rather nicely - put a maple/rosewood neck on instead of the stock maple/maple, a bone nut, heavy-duty Kluson bridge, Elixir strings, and Fender '62 reissue P-bass pickup. Best of all, taking the idea from someone over on MuffWiggler, I installed a knockoff Rickenbacker neck pickup I had hanging around at the correct position, and now I've got quite a reasonable approximation of the 4000-series neck tone as an adjustable blend with the normal pickup. Got it back from the tech yesterday with a proper setup job done, and I think I'm in love Biggrin

Oh wow, I had not checked in a for a bit and missed a few posts.

I have never even heard of Electro GIG 3d. Amazing looking on that Tezro and very rare SGI monitor.
