I installed mathematica 5.2. It seems installation complete. But it can not calculate any thing. Math core dump. :huh:
BY the way Maple 7 works well in my octane2.

I'm having the same problem. Also on an Octane running Irix 6.5.30:
In addition "WARNING: core: MathKernel PID 4945, failed to open core file (core file deleted)" is printed on the Console, if you have it open.

On my O2, this won't run because the back end /usr/local/bin/math Mathematica kernel requires a 64bit capable CPU (n64 or IRIX64), even if you hack the launch scripts to ignore to bypass that check.
