That is the 32K version. I was under the impression that 8K weren't so easily obtainable, hence my question.
I honestly don't know why you cannot program your Dallas chip, the information from linux-mips.org should be valid...

You missed my answer. I just had to restart the machine and it took the update?!?!
I don't know why but it'll do!  :-)

To restart the system, either power down, wait one full minute then power up.

So it might be that the system goes through a NVM write sequence to ensure the NVM RAM isn't written too many times. Or not :-)
