Is it not possible to change disc images while Mame is running?

Tried mounting some ISO9660 CDs in IRIX 6.2 and 5.3 (mounted at bootup in MAME), using "mount -t iso9660 /dev/rdsk/dks0d6vol /CDROM", but could not get it to work:

mountcd: Unknown CD-ROM type (ýóé), may not function correctly
mount_iso9660: can't initialize /dev/rdsk/dks0d6vol: I/O error.
mount: giving up on: /CDROM

Any ideas?

As far as i know, no. The only way is to specify the images you want to run on the command line.

It's a bit of a long shot, but what might work is to create an EFS or XFS partition as a loop device, cram it full of software you want ot put on your emulated disk and convert it to CHD. Then enable a second disk in the Indy emulator and mount that CHD image.

Btw, I didn't have to compile mame, simply downloaded OSX release from their website and it works just fine.

Found a reference stating mount_iso9660 for Irix 5.3 at least expects a Sony or Toshiba CD-ROMs, MAME reports as something else, this results in the "Unknown CD-ROM type" message. Don't know if this is the reason for the "I/O Error". Anyone else make progress with mounting CDs (EFS or ISO9660) within Irix, after installing?

Just being verbose, but i could install the second part of IRIX 6.2 by making a CHD of the CD, then adding it to the command line:

Inside the terminal i got after booting 6.2, i mounted the device with something like:

mount -t efs /dev/rdsk/dks0d6s7 /CDROM

or something similar, i forgot what the exact command was, though :o
