There's a lot of complaining about nekoware these days but towards the end, almost no one would lift a finger to help. I can name the guys who would even answer questions on the fingers of one hand - and jpstewart is one of the few, the skilled, the good guys. You're lucky he's here.

Awww, shucks. I'm blushing reading that. And it's not really accurate: I'm a lazy slacker. Answering questions is a lot less work for me than actually compiling stuff myself.

At Nekochan, I know Canavan did a lot of good work on Nekoware. Foetz posted links to pre-compiled stuff (not Nekoware packages), and not just for IRIX. (Not sure if either of those two made it over to these forums.) Jan-Jaap is here, and provided pre-compiled binaries for IRIX 4.x freeware. Also here, dexter1 is doing some great work such as libffi and his on-going dual mips3/mips4 packages that are, in my opinion, what Nekoware should have had from the beginning. And those are just the names I remember of a few of the folks I looked up to at Nekochan.

In other words, there were and are a lot of people doing behind-the-scenes stuff (still here today) who don't get enough credit for their work. Answering questions in the forums may be more noticeable, but it's a lot less work. Trust me, I know!
