It registers "ZULU", which is the correct name for the XVR-4000:

I'm going to get hold of WildeFire Sytems today and ask them to send me absolutely all of the peripherals required to run this machine:
A SUN type 6 USB keyboard and mouse, SUN13w3 to VGA cable, etc.... (The 13w3 to VGA cable that I have may also be a problem, as it works with my Octane and Onyx2, and I'm aware that there are differences between SGI and SUN in this regard.)
According to WildFire System's, Solaris doesn't need to be installed in order to get an output from the XVR-4000.
