I used some random PS/2 keyboards on my Octane, they all worked, but mice are a bit more complicated. I had a microsoft mouse, I think, which always freezed the Octane for 3-4 seconds when I pressed the wheel button. That annoyed me to no end for months!!! Nowhere was an explanation for that, or anyone who experienced the same ... then I finnally found out, that it was the mouse itself the whole time
Now I use a cheap Genuis Netscroll 120, which just works.
