Fixed the problems. Unfortunately some script kiddie thought filling up the firewall error log with gigs of requests from a single non-VPN residential IP was a smart move. I've notified his ISP, hopefully that and a temp IP range block of Spectrum in Wisconsin will temporarily prevent this. in the meantime I've changed log rotations around.
