- I suspect you're reading the documentation of Reanimator to install IRIX instead the diskless workstation documentation: https://github.com/Linux-RISC/IRIX-diskless-workstation.
- You don't need another IRIX workstation if you use a pre-installed image, just Reanimator installed in a VM or on a Raspberry Pi (recommended).

Reanimator works in this case as "launcher" of the pre-installed image.
