Hello IRIXnet,

   I'm sure that all of us remember Tamagotchis. You know, the egg-shaped virtual pets that we all spent a ridiculous amount of time and energy trying to feed and take care of using the pushes of three little buttons. Fun times there.

   One thing that you may not know about is that nowadays, they are a fun little desktop novelty for windows machines. If you visit the following link, you'll see the website for Tamagotchi Simulator 3.0.

 The device shows up on your desktop without a window around it, and then the tamagotchi is fully interactive. It works just like the real devices did back in the day. Also, you can change the look on the device's casing, replace the sprite-sheet with newer and better-illustrated sprites, and customize a lot of the features. It's a lot of fun. 

    The reason for this thread is because... Well... Like most of us on this site I use IRIX a lot. I thought it would be cool to have Tamagotchi simulator on my Indy. The source code is available on the weblink below.

    Would anybody on here be able to download the source code, make some small modifications as necessary, and then compile it for IRIX? I'm sure that many of us would get a kick out of this little desktop gimmick.
