I do have mplayer 1.4 building / running in IRIX. However, it's notably slower than the previous versions, due to some hand optimizations we did on those early nekoware versions. I'm looking at bringing some of those changes forward, as I just don't find a version that's more compatible, but 40% slower, to really be much of an update.
