Onyx2 PIMM Upgrade Question
Hey, folks,

It looks like I finally have my Onyx2 in (mostly) working order. The internal SCSI controller is faulty, sadly. I was able to get IRIX 6.5.22 installed on a SCSI2SD in an external enclosure. While it isn't the fastest thing in the world, it should suffice until I can get a good hard drive in there.

As an element of shuffling parts around, I moved a pair of 400 MHz PIMM modules onto node boards that had contained 300 MHz modules. However, the system is only registering them as 300 MHz. hinv shows the correct SGI part number for 400 MHz modules and they did function on their original node boards. I just swapped the PIMMs because I was too lazy to move all the RAM. Biggrin (Well, and I did want to try it out!) I ran update in the PROM but they're still reporting in both the PROM and IRIX as 300 MHz. I also flashed everything from IRIX. Is there a step I'm missing in getting these working, or could this be a limitation of the specific node board revision?

Thanks in advance for the help!
