Terms:

$800 is being offered to develop a free, open source replacement to inst on IRIX

Package Type: tardist/patch
License (if applicable): Choose one: 3-clause BSD, MIT, ISC License
Optimizations (if applicable): I would prefer that this requires no modifications to the base OS to run. ANSI (C89) is preferred. MUST compile using MIPSPro.

Additional Terms: The inst replacement must be drop-in ready. Some differences are allowable, but must be documented. It isn't necessary for it to run in a miniroot/installation, but I'm willing to see if I can offer additional money for getting that working.

Anyone else can add onto the reward, but prior terms cannot be modified or invalidated.

Stretch Goals:

Working with bsdtar: $100 bonus
Adding some kind of scripting ability to automate installs: $250 bonus
swmgr compatible GUI: $500 bonus
