CPU Board memory configuration

RE: CPU Board memory configuration
You do not need to change memory.

Only some systems like the Origin and Onyx2 can show this with "hinv -mv", e.g. my O350:
Code:
Memory at Module 001c01/Slot 0: 8192 MB (enabled)
Bank 0 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 1 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 2 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 3 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 4 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 5 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 6 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 7 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Memory at Module 001c02/Slot 0: 8192 MB (enabled)
Bank 0 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 1 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 2 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 3 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 4 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 5 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 6 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 7 contains 1024 MB (Premium) DIMMS (enabled)

Since you're talking about going from a R12000 300Mhz to a R14000 600 Mhz I'm going to assume an Octane here. The Octane doesn't show this information. To install an R14K CPU, your mainboard must be the "1467" revision, not the "0887" revision. This is visible in the output of "hinv -mv". Here's a sample from an Octane with a 300MHz CPU and an "0887" mainboard (2nd and 4th line):

Code:

      PM10300MHZ Board: barcode HML109     part 030-1355-001 rev  J
