Indigo2 Max Impact sees CD-ROM as hard drive?
I would like to carry out a fresh IRIX install on my Indigo2 Max Impact and the system refuses to see the CD-ROM as a CD-ROM.

This CD-ROM does work perfectly in my Indigo2 R4000!

Here's the system with the CD-ROM tray removed:

I disconnected the SCSI ribbon cable from the mother board and cleaned the connector:

I reseated the connector:
