CD Player recommendation

CD Player recommendation
I'm on the lookout for a stand alone CD player to pair with my very simple NAD 3020 amp. Used is my preference and sort of from the same or slightly later era than my amp.

Any recommendations? I've been looking at a NAD 521i, 515BEE (bit of a later model) and NAD 5420. Have also looked at a Denon but I favour a complimentary player to my amp. Are there any others I should be looking at in the £30-£60 used price range?

Nothing fancy required, but a good DAC with clear sound reproduction is my main aim.

RE: CD Player recommendation
Maybe consider the Arcam DiVA CD72 CD Player (It features a 24-bit burr brown DAC)

The Arcam DiVA CD92 crunches numbers with a dCS Ring DAC, but would be out of the price range you've set. (It will however be considerably better due the the dCS Ring DAC.)

I missed out on a CD72 for £52 shipped. :(

They tend to go for £80+ as an average.

It will complement your system well though!

My first "Relevant" hifi consisted of a NAD 320 Integrated Stereo Amplifier, a NAD 510 CD Player and a pair of MISSION 731 LE's.

Taking a chance on a CD72, doubt I'll get it as the seller seems to cancel auctions minutes before it ends if the price isn't to his liking. Have set a limit for myself, if I don't get it I'll look for a NAD 521i.

Cool! I would definitely wait it out and try to get my hands on a CD72, if I were you. At a later stage, you can even upgrade it with the dCS Ring DAC!

I'm not holding out much luck, I offered him £55 for it and he declined, so I suspect he'll cancel the bid a minute before it closes if it doesn't get much attention. Not sure what eBay rules are on if you win and pay immediately, can he still cancel as the item is effectively yours then?

He hasn’t set a reserve, so legally, he has no right to cancel the bid, seeing that you’ve bid on it.
