anyone have Softimage Eddie?
I haven't been able to find a good copy of this - anyone have it? I found a copy of 3.5 somewhere once, but it won't install because it's missing the ".Product.Id" file. If someone can post the contents of the file then that would be cool too

I think I have the same version with same symptoms. I did these steps: 1) create a folder and copy r4k version of Eddie to it 2) launch install from distribution files and create a new user environment for Eddie 3) maybe you also need to solve library dependencies by copy them from distribution to folder it wants 4) and that's all (except license, of course), Eddie now works on my O2 but I don't tested it for long and deep.

Re: anyone have Softimage Eddie?
I have de ".product.id" file in my server as I was testing Eddie a few days ago. I have installed it on Indigo R3k and Octane but I don't have a valid license. I will look for the ".product.id" and post a pm or upload to the ftp later.

I wasn't really able to figure out what you mean by step 2, but the problem I ran into was by not using an installer I don't have a lot of the proper ENV variables set, and I'm not really sure how to figure them out, stuff just isn't working right. I'll have to revisit it one I get a good .product.id

I mean that in the distribution folder there is setup executable (GUI, as so for Softimage). When you run it window will show up and you need then select not to setup Eddie (it won't run due to missed id file) but to create a new user environment. And it will create new user and like in Disreet you at logon should select that user and launch Eddie from there.

PS: I took Eddie from here - <URL url="http://forums.irix.cc/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=159">http://forums.irix.cc/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=159.
