A similar discussion arose today on a mailing list that I read.  Somebody there pointed to https://fido.aalin.co.uk/vault/hw/system/sun/sbus-sfe2/ for information about (some) SBus Fast Ethernet cards and drivers.  Maybe it'll help you, too.

Just beware that Sun sold "SBus Ethernet" (10 Mbit/sec) and "SBus Fast Ethernet" (100 Mbit/sec) cards.  Worse yet, they're not always correctly labelled by ebay sellers.  Cross-reference part numbers with the official Sun documentation to be sure.

RE: 100 Mbp ethernet on sparcstation 5
Hello,

got the ethernet card (Sun 501-2919/x1059a sunfastethernet 10/100 SBUS ebay item https://www.ebay.fr/itm/333893739708).

How to I proper install it ? When I remove the existing 10 Mbps ethernet card and replace it, and boot with -r to reconfigure,
it says le1 is not available.

I am running solaris 2.6, from what I have understood, the driver is included within the OS ?

thank you for your help !

I'm not surprised that le1 is not available. That particular Fast Ethernet card should be using the hme driver, so it will be hme0 instead.
