IRIX emulation is here!
RE: IRIX emulation is here!
Ah. I changed the following in '/etc/init.d/network.local' from

Code:
/usr/etc/route add default 192.168.2.254 1

to

Code:
/usr/etc/route add -net default 192.168.2.254 -hopcount 1

And the message disappears.

About the echo in the audio.

Is it the same with your emulators?

How can I fix this?

Hi,

I have the same with the audio; 'it stutters' (or echo's, I can't really tell). BTW, what's your command in Irix to play some sounds ? ( I only hear the audio on startup/shutdown).
I don't think there is much you can do about the audio though, it is still not perfectly emulated according to the startup screen (MAME 0.221), so the best you can hope for is that the mame devs improve it at some point. On the other hand, networking is claimed to be not emulated yet at all, and that seems to work decently enough for the basics.

I would open a GitHub issue or something. You're not going to get a lot of help here because the MAME devs don't frequent this forum. You should be using their official support channels for bugs in emulation like that.

No. The MAME devs are *VERY* clear that they don't accept bug reports for things that are *CLEARLY* marked as 'not working/not emulated/imperfect emulation'.

Fair enough, I was simply trying to point out to Alex that this isn't the best venue for him to get support. If he has identified a bug or problem with the emulation then there's not really anyone here with the power to fix it.

Well, I mentioned this behavior over at the mameworld emuchat forum, and the reason for the 'echo' or 'stutter' in the audio is caused by the fact that your host machine (your PC) can't run the emulated guest (Indy/Irix) at full speed, and there's really nothing you can do about that.

I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 with 32GB 3200MHz DDR4 and a 1TB Samsung Pro NVMe SSD. My graphics card is a GT 710. It has an ASUS A320M-K board. It runs Ubuntu 20.04. I'm pretty happy with it.

The wiki article was moved over successfully. If you guys have some more ideas to improve it I'm all ears. I still need to look more into some stuff Shrek gave me a bit ago.

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
I did a cursory search of the whole thread, but couldn't find much on this.
Is there a reliable way to transfer files between my host PC and the emulator? There's an INDY folder in the recent Nintendo leaks (not going to link anything here, you know where to get them) and trying them out on the emulator is worth a shot. Appreciate any help I can get with this, thanks.
