Music  SGI product demo music
Hi all!
I don't know if this is the correct place to post this thread, but there's some production music that SGI used around 1993 or 1994 that I'm looking for more information about. Here's what I've found so far:

The song in question was used in a few promos for the SGI Indy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOLuDkehQ-k) and (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoKQbHWBrdA), and was also used in a tech demo showing the partnership between Nintendo and SGI (https://youtu.be/a1z9HmDuYgs?t=41). The tech demo video shows that the song was "original music" composed by Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons, under the label Who's Hacking Music.

The first video listed states in the description that the source was found on the old SGI FTP server (ftp.sgi.com), and after browsing through a public mirror, I don't know if it's actually from there. Can anyone confirm that this video was from the sgi ftp, and if so, what is its file path?

I also have tried to browse the BMI music repertoire, to no avail. There's music under the label mentioned above, but it's mostly all released with Rippingtons albums, despite the Nintendo tech demo implying that the background music was copyrighted.

My simple question is, does anyone have any leads or information regarding this bangin' piece of production music? Thanks for all of your help.

RE: SGI product demo music
Hi. from the Wikipedia page of the Rippingtones comes a strong clue with respect to the connection with SGI:

Quote: Tony Morales, the original drummer, left the band in 1994 to pursue a career in web management. Morales put together the Rippingtons' first web site, which was nominated for an AOL award (Best Jazz Band Site). He later became the webmaster and manager of Silicon Graphics International's web sites for 10 years, and now has his own hosting and development business tonyhosting.com.

There's a Tony Morales on IMDB and at http://tonymoralesmusic.com/ who may or may not be the guy. The bio page on his site indicates that he left off playing in "a series of unfortunately-named bands" and went into soundtrack work around '97-'98, but doesn't mention the Rippingtons specifically. Could probably drop him a line.
