Onyx "High" blower on IR unit - vladio - 02-01-2019
I'm going to try to address an issue with my Onyx2 rack - The IR unit shows the yellow "High" temp led and runs the large blower at the top on high all the time. This isn't a critical issue but I really enjoy fixing things so I think I'm going to see what I can do, not to mention it sounds a bit louder than a new GE GEnx turbofan when it's running. I swapped the MSC's on it and still get "High" on the IR, just thought I'd take that element out of the equation as it's a simple swap. In my research I saw that there's a few causes for the "High" trigger; obviously high temperatures - my computer room stays cool in the winter and it shows High at start up, A bad fan somewhere can cause the trigger for High (I'm thinking this is the cause) and possibly a sensor. I'm going to pull the PSU cover tonight and check the internal fans, not sure how much I can see without pulling the top PSU.
Just curious if anyone's been able to address this issue and offer up some advice.
