Compiling Blender on an AlphaStation 255 (Windows NT4)? - Irinikus - 01-27-2019

If I wanted to compile Blender to run on the Alphastation 255 under Windows NT4, what resources would I need to do so?

Good question. First off would be a compiler. WinWorldPC has Visual C++ 4.0 for Alpha, but Lord only knows what revision of the language(s) it supports and how well. GCC no longer supports NT on Alpha according to their site, but there does appear to be a MinGW build with gcc 4.3 available, for what it's worth.

Hey, that could be an interesting test for FX!32 - if it works. I.e. checking how with each run the rendering/raytracing speed improves.

https://download.blender.org/release/ contains a lot of old versions which maybe could run on Windows NT.

FX!32 works and allows me to install Blender.

I've installed Blender2.35a, but I'm getting the following error when I try to run the program:

I'm sure this problem can be solved though. (I'll have to look at it tomorrow, as it's getting late here now.)

I've got Blender 1.6 to install, but it's buggy:
