Maya 6.5 in Irix - Uber Tutorial on Basics -

Finally finished the Maya video. This version was the 5th attempt as each previous attempt had technical problems that made the vid unwatchable like manual focus going in and out. Sound problems. Etc.
This one went a bit long but is packed with quite a bit of info. I go through the information in a casual way to explain the context of each section.
Covers in one tutorial what two softimage tuts did which is why it is long.

You're all welcome.
I want to do another Maya one before moving on to Houdini, Alias Power Animator, Lightwave, etc.
I was looking for the Maya 6.5 Bonus Tools that used to be downloadable back then. I found the Windows package and it should be compatible with Irix, not sure though as I am sure that there may be some parsing that is handled differently in Mel.
The Bonus Tools marking menus in 6.5 were the beginning of Context sensitive Marking menus and are still in use today in modern Maya's
They consolidate all of the tools into one easy marking menu function depending on your selection.
Another tutorial on this alone and then adding a tutorial on how to make your own marking menus as well as a little more info on how to setup your own custom Mel scripts to create macro functions might round out Maya part 2 while keeping it under an hour.

Maya 6.5 Bonus Tools ... dropping this here since I can't get networking going on my o2 again. :/ Had it running between all three win7<>Octane<>o2 last year.

I will be making another Maya video on these modeling marking menus... the bonus tools....and how to customize shelves.
How to make your own macro functions looking at and using the mel commands from the script editor.
Ok these work in Irix. Some don't work but the marking menus do. Perhaps after I do the video someone else can advise me why it takes the original bonus tools directory.
In any case I will be able to show what I needed using this download for windows re-purposed for Irix.

A huge thanks for the video!
Ive been away from Maya for quite a while now, but will definitely use this as a reference when I return! (So many machines to play with, so little time! It's becoming hard to maintain focus on any specific area :( )

Thanks Irinikus. I am uploading Part 2 right now. Hopefully uploaded later tonight. Its uses the custom context sensitive marking menus included in the Bonus Tools file and how I installed it.
I then show how to create a custom marking menu, shelves, and some messing around with MEL a little and how that streamlines workflow.
Should be ready tonight and I'll make a separate post.
