Anybody have experience shipping an SGI O2? - spintronic - 12-03-2018

Hi all,
I'm selling my Sgi O2 on EBay right now and I have a buyer. What do you suggest is the best way to ship the thing, especially if it's international? Bubble wrap and packing peanuts in an oversized box? Should I try to shape some styrofoam around it? I hear these things have cases like eggshells, and will most likely arrived damaged! Hope to hear other people's experiences.

When I bought mine, it was packed as you describe -- wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap with peanuts surrounding that, and it arrived intact.  I'd look for a sturdy box, or even double-box for rigidity.

Thanks for the info. I've read other stories about bubble wrap and it arriving in pieces. Maybe it really needed the peanuts to keep it from rattling around.

I'd highly suggest following this guide. I've shipped O2's internationally with this method and they've consistently arrived unharmed. Good luck!
