What's your current home or office setup? -
Irinikus - 05-26-2018
Show us how your "daily drivers" are setup? (They don't have to be SGI's)
This is my current setup, which I use daily: (If only I had jan jaap's cable management system!)
I'm going to be getting another desk of the same type plus the applicable shelving, so that I can eventually set all of my systems up. (The O2, Onyx2 and one of the Indy's will stay in Cape Town, for use when I'm there.)
I really don't want to move that O2!
The one desk will go along the one wall and the other desk along the other with the V880z situated in the corner between them. (facing diagonally into the room)
EDIT:
I now have my other desk:
As for the wiring and network, I will have to get a professional solution installed to deal with it, so that things can be neatened up to an acceptable level.
My other desk in Cape Town: (The Tezro has been moved to Pretoria)

Bit messy at the moment, I need to sort my paperwork. Anyway, under the desk is my Fuel, O2 (been doing some playing with it recently) and main PC (Ryzen 7 1700X). On the desk (from left to right) is my 4.5TB backup NAS (under the SGI keyboard), my ThinkPad X201, three monitors (2x Dell 20" 1600x1200 and 27" Viewsonic 1920x1200). Left-hand monitor runs through a VGA KVM for my SGI systems, all three monitors can also be used simultaneously via a USB dock and a second USB/DVI KVM under the desk for my work laptops (when I need to work from home). Main keyboard is a Ducky Shine 2 mechanical keyboard. Oh, and there's an 8 port gigabit switch and a wireless extender hidden under the desk as well.
To the right of the desk is my Indigo2, Cambridge Audio amplifier (speakers are behind me when taking this photo), and my ProJect record deck - cabled up to run either through the amp, or via my Indigo2 if I want to rip anything. All audio from my systems runs via the amp, so nice quality sound when I'm doing anything <E>

Edit: Oh, and in the far left (just visible) is the dog's cushion for when she wants to join me in the room.

I see that your main display has your preferred aspect ratio! (16:10) <E>

</E>
I must also get myself a display with that aspect ratio! (The Tezro requires it for a high resolution output.)
You're obviously extremely careful as to where you place your feet, considering where your O2 is placed! (You've got more guts than I have! <E>

Yeah, the O2 is only there temporarily. I usually tuck my feet under my chair, if I do stretch them out, I usually just catch the plastic on the base which is a bit more solid. The O2 will soon go back into the cupboard, I only dig it out occasionally as both the Indigo2 and Fuel are far more capable machines.
And yes screen wise, no 16:9 screens! I'm also fortunate at work where my desk setup consists of another two of the 20" Dell screens, plus a 24" 16:10 Dell screen in the middle. Both my home Dell monitors were spares from work - being in charge of IT at a large site does have its bonuses! The Viewsonic screen I actually bought back in 2007 when 16:10 screens were common. It's not the absolute finest screen in the entire world, but I love the aspect ratio of it and just find it so comfortable to work on (and it supports SoG!). I dread the moment when it finally fails and I'm forced to try and get another monitor. 27" 16:10 screens are extinct now, although HP still make 30" 16:10 screens (2560x1600 res).

That PC at the end looks mighty close to falling off! <E>

Hey it's actually just the photo angle, it's actually securely sitting where it is at the moment.

Booted up my Octane to its graphics-caused kernel fault just for you guys. <E>

</E>
Desktop on the left is my main PC, to the right of the desk are two servers, then a desktop comprised of my PC parts before I moved to Ryzen, on top is my kind of borked Octane. <E>:lol:</E>
Try to excuse the cable mess!

Had to use imgur as this forum didn't like the photo for whatever reason.

Forum image system is kind of buggy. Once we get network management worked out this weekend, we'll go ahead and fix that.

My setup is far too ghetto to ever post publicly; the computer safety police would be bursting through my door in microseconds... <E>:lol:</E>
