  Where is the one black eye smiley?

So I was at one point attempting to configure using win7 running with camtasia or similar with a remote desktop view of the Octane or O2 so I could record desktop tutorial vids easier than my iPhone on a stand looking at the 1600sw... even though that in itself is kind of fun to see I guess. 

Since I can't go back to the Neko threads and find info easy I am asking here now. 
Was there a way to do this win7 --> remote desktop --> Irix so I can control the mouse from windows and basically run irix from my win desktop?

The ultimate goal of which isn't to really run it that way but to just have a maximized window running camtasia recording the desktop while I am actually at the Irix desktop running the application. It is simply for the practical purpose of recording vids through camtasia.

Is this configuration even possible?

Yes, but probably not remote desktop as I don't believe there's a remote desktop server for IRIX. There are however VNC servers, so remoting to IRIX via VNC is very much possible.

Oh I'll use VNC I used to use a for work so I didn't have to go to other offices to check renders.

Do we have the VNC Irix here at Irix.cc?
