Sun Ultra 2 and 400mhz/4mb CPUs - legodude - 11-12-2023
Anyone know if the 400mhz/4mb cache CPUs work in an Ultra 2? The manual says 400mhz/2mb are max spec. I have one 400mhz/2mb, but 2x 400mhz/4mb CPUs are cheaper than a second 400mhz/2mb CPU. I seem to recall the 4mb cache CPUs being talked about as working in the usenet days, but I can't dig up a reference.

Easy answer... 400mhz/4mb CPUs do not fit in an Ultra 2. The heatsink on the back collides with the plastic shrouding.
Looking for another 400mhz/2mb Ultrasparc at this point
