Feedback on Mousepad Group Buy - Raion - 07-14-2023
I'm looking for feedback on our group buy when someone has some time. The most common complaints I heard:
1. Slow shipping. I'm sorry. That was my fault. I had a million things working against me but I did deliver all orders in the end. For those who had to wait, I'm really sorry. I hope you understand that it wasn't planned by me.
2. Cost. I know I know. I could not make it any cheaper because of the small volume. Using a drop shipping/create on demand would have cost significantly more and made things worse. I didn't wanna use plastic either, the fabric pads are EXCELLENT for a few reasons such as washability and long term durability.
3. Availability. Who knew that inflation would make it too costly to ship overseas? I worked to try and get partners with it, but it was never going to be feasible with how people kept bailing. It was not going to work unless we had someone dedicated to the task.
4. Nicheness of the design. The cube couldn't be the cornerstone of the design, and we can't just make generics oftentimes.
I want to do more designs, such as shirts, posters, etc as well as more involved stuff such as a custom keyboard etc. It'll take some time, I'm still trying to get our projects like the D2 and the Silicon Image (which DESPERATELY needs to be done, Gallery3 is barely held together with duct tape) stuff done. Finances have been tight, as I dump a lot of personal money into these side projects and I had all sorts of issues this spring/summer with my cars, slowdown in business deals and just having issues finding day-to-day work. I'm doing fine now. I don't need a handout, but rather just a vacation LOL.
Anyways, any and all feedback is welcome, even if it's scathing.

Hello,
I am wondering if the mousepads are still available. I went to https://irixnet-sales.square.site/ as linked in the Group Buy thread, and it seems there is still stock available for sale to US locations (I am in the US).
I just wanted to verify that they are still available before getting into a situation where a credit card transaction might need to be reversed.

Hi Robertson,
I have small and mediums still in stock none of the large ones.
It might be a little bit before I can ship any out because I started a new job and currently I am working 9:00 to 5:00 which was one of the problems I had with the group buy the last time.
If you will be at VCF Midwest I will just make sure to earmark a few with Josh who is going to be selling.
Let me know what you want and we can figure it out though.

Thank you for your quick reply. I will go ahead and order one of the small size.
I'm not in any huge rush for it to get delivered, as long as it's not a months-long wait or anything.
I noticed in some message or other that they are washable. Do you have any recommendations on how best to wash them? E.g., I have a silk bag for throwing delicate items in the washing machine. Would that be in any way recommended?
Thank you for the offer to have some for me at VCF Midwest. That looks like a fun event (which I didn't even know existed until your message)! Unfortunately, I most likely cannot attend this year, but I will try to see if I can attend in the future. Reading about the "free pile" on the event website (https://vcfmw.org/faq/) has got me excited that someone might benefit from a few "for parts only" Apple laptops, at least one verifiably counting as vintage, etc., I've accumulated.
Oh, and congratulations on the new job! I hope it's fulfilling work with good colleagues.
