Firefox 3 for IRIX - pauloarruda - 06-18-2023

Hello guys!
Someone can help me to install Firefox 3 on my Silicon Graphics Tezro?
I downloaded neko_firefox3_0_19pre.tardist but I don't know how to installed it

Please someone let me know how to install it, I will be grateful

IRIX uses swmgr to install stuff. There's no double clicking or dependencies resolution. So be prepared to open multiple system packages.

Hello,

Looking for some support here if someone has seen this before.  Attempting to run firefox3 on an Octane R12K.  I think I have a glib version problem and I can't figure out how to fix it.  glib-config --version reports 1.2.10.  Is that correct for firefox3?  here's the console output when it crashes:

    (firefox-bin:5920): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_qdata: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
    (firefox-bin:5920): Pango-CRITICAL **: pango_font_find_shaper: assertion `font != NULL' failed
    (firefox-bin:5920): Pango-WARNING **: failed to choose a font, expect ugly output. engine-type='PangoRenderFc', script='latin'
    (firefox-bin:5920): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_get_qdata: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
    (firefox-bin:5920): Pango-CRITICAL **: pango_font_describe: assertion `font != NULL' failed
    moz_run_program[36]: 5920 Memory fault

I've also tried the fontconfig route as well as trying to use env LD_LIBRARY paths to glib... I'm just stuck.

Not sure if this works on Firefox 3 or not, but if you do about:preferences in the URL bar, can you scroll down to the fonts and pick one that you've actually got?

You are messing with glib1, you need glib2

So I have a similar problem. I installed Firefox 3 and ended up having to upgrade several packages such as getfont and freetype.

I seem to have broke one of my favorite programs (abiword) which now complains it can't find any fonts on startup.

If I roll back I probably can't run FF3. Any advice?

The way in which nekoware was built makes this a problem. Tried this set of packages?
