Origin 350 brick type -
Origin351 - 10-18-2022
Hello everyone,i take recently one brick origin 350.
This brick have 4x700 r16k node board IP53
2x1gb ram
2x power supplies
1x IO9 board
1x hard drives(2x slot cage)
1x db9 back panel port
1x console back panel port
1x L1 back panel port(usb type B)
My question is:This brick type is bootable with os irix in single mode?
Without daughterboard ps/2 Key/Mouse and other 3x serial port on rear panel?
It seems to me that it is an expansion module.
Or am I wrong?
I wanted to add a Vpro and a PCI usb to try to use it as a single module but not if it is possible.
If anyone was kind enough to help me understand I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance.

The keyboard/mouse ports are not usable if you don't have graphics (Onyx 350).
My Origin 350 also only has a single console port and it runs fine. If you scroll down that page you can see some pics of the back side.
My system (2 modules) was port of a larger 32CPU config so it's possible one or more bricks of the original system had the extra serial ports.

Hi Origin351,
just to add to what Jan-Jaap said, if you put in a USB board then I see no reason why you could not connect keyboard/mouse via USB, but mouse would be of little use without graphics.
Once you get the USB installed and boot with Keyboard/Mouse connected you can look at the "/etc/ioconfig.conf" file to see if it sucessfully auto detected the USB keyboard/mouse and allocated HW graph details for them.
I have number of O350, but have never used them with USB Keyboard/Mouse though based on SGI documentation this should work...
Cheers from Oz,
jwhat.
