3d printing an indigo 2 stand - soviet - 05-21-2022

Very cool, because finding these stands in the wild is hard and expensive.

They are 2 models in there one (low profile stand) and the full size one, that is the one I like to print.
The full size is called on the thing files "sgi_foot.stl", so printed it, and the stand prints like they are 2 models one on top of the other.

The 2 halves are completely apart, first believed that it was a print error but after reprinting got the same issue.
Looking at the generated gcode I can see a gap in there, not very good at blender and can't figure out how to join the gap.

Not good at 3d modeling at all.

I've loaded the stl in prusa-slicer and it's one piece there. So it looks more like a slicer bug

Seems to be some kind of slicing error, I was using an old version cura that was bundled with my 3d printer.
Now updated to the last release of cura and the slice error is "different".
The right and left top sides are printed like separated parts, maybe some superglue will do ?.

I also printed low profile version of that model for use with my Indigo2. (see attachment)

For the gap when slice the model, it usually either slicer bug or caused by model file it self.
I have this kind of issue when I was making a mask for my costume project, after 2 failed print of newer version of the mask part, I found out it was caused by improper model that I have create using NURBS surface (and probably cura's bug as well). I re-model the problematic part, re-export it and slice it using newest version of cura of that time and the problem is fixed.

I suggest try import the obj file in to blender (the download have obj file listed), then export it as stl and slice the exported stl using cura and see if the gap is gone or not. (this is also the way I print my Indigo2 stand)
