A good gr_osview config is necessary for debugging CPU load, network problems, memory leaks, etc. So use this ~/.grosview file written by Greg Ercolano based on the excellent, voluminous manpage, including comments on what does what.

I have been using this config file  for years on all my SGIs.  Cool  It made my gr_osview really useful. But the seriss.com includes more IRIX-friendly and cool stuff.
