Hello there
Got an Indigo2 (4400@200)
Fist time starting it boots into Irix 5.3 followed from an Console endling with a loginscreen with a background wich shows OPAL 7830.
What is it, some kind of Software ?
Any open accounts there or can i use the 5.3 boot cd and change the passwd ?

you can see the purple Indigo in a few pictures. So your I2 was used in such a machine, which ran some custom software.

It appears the Opal 7830 machine is an electron microscope for industrial purposes.
The software which ran on it won't be of much use unless married up to the hardware it was written for.
Still wouldn't hurt to preserve it.

Before you reinstall you should clone the drive for historical purposes
